HELIX PLANT CARE
Helix ivy, also known as English ivy or Hedera helix, is a classic and versatile houseplant loved for its trailing vines and lush, green foliage. Here's how to care for helix ivy indoors:
Sunlight
- Indirect Light: Helix ivy prefers bright, indirect light. Place it near a window with filtered sunlight or in a well-lit room with plenty of ambient light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly.
Watering
- Even Moisture: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
- Watering Method: Water at the base of the plant to avoid wetting the foliage, which can promote fungal diseases.
Humidity
- Moderate Humidity: Helix ivy tolerates average indoor humidity levels but appreciates occasional misting to increase humidity. You can also place a humidifier nearby or use a pebble tray filled with water beneath the pot.
Temperature
- Moderate Temperatures: Maintain temperatures between 10-21°C during the day and above 7°C at night. Helix ivy can tolerate cooler temperatures but avoid exposing it to extreme heat or cold drafts.
