POTHOS PLANT CARE
Caring for a Pothos (Epipremnum aureum), also known as Devil's Ivy or Golden Pothos, indoors is relatively easy, making it a popular choice for both beginners and experienced plant lovers. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you keep your Pothos healthy:
Sunlight
- Indirect Light: Pothos plants thrive in indirect light. They can tolerate low light conditions, but their growth may slow down, and variegated varieties may lose their color.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, so it's best to place the plant in a location with filtered or indirect light.
Watering
- Moderate Watering: Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out between waterings. Pothos prefer to be on the slightly dry side, so it's better to underwater than overwater.
- Water Thoroughly: When watering, thoroughly saturate the soil until water drains out from the bottom of the pot.
Humidity
- Humidity: They can tolerate average indoor humidity levels, but they appreciate higher humidity. If the air is very dry, consider using a humidifier or misting the plant occasionally.
Temperature
- Temperature: Pothos plants prefer temperatures between 18-29°C. They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
