HOW TO CONSTRUCT YOUR TERRARIUM

  1. Carefullt sprinkle the filler substrate into the glass. The filler substrate ensures moisture circulation in the terrarium (This is the smaller stone bag)
  2. Spread a layer of approximately 8cm of potting soil over the substarte. Then, use your hand to make small holde in the potting soil where the plants will be placed
  3. Gently squeeze the pot to loosen the plant and plant the small plant in the potting soil.
  4. Place the moss balls in the vase next to or between the plants. If the peices are too large, the moss can be torn into smaller peices.
  5. Randomly distribute the cover stones in the vase, being careful not to damage the plants. Once all the steps are complete, place the cork on the vase, and your terrarium is ready.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR TERRARIUM

Caring for a terrarium involves a few key steps to ensure your miniature garden thrives. Here’s a guide to help you keep it in top shape:

1. Light

  • Indirect Sunlight: Place your terrarium in a spot with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can cause overheating and harm the plants inside.
  • Artificial Light: If natural light is insufficient, use grow lights to supplement the light requirements. Aim for 10-12 hours of light per day.

2. Watering

  • Monitor Moisture: Check the soil regularly. Enclosed terrariums retain moisture well, so water sparingly. Water only when the soil feels dry about an inch below the surface.
  • Avoid Overwatering: Excess water can lead to mold and root rot. Ensure the terrarium has good drainage if needed.

3. Humidity

  • Maintain Humidity: Enclosed terrariums create a humid environment that is usually self-regulating. However, if you notice condensation or mold, adjust watering and ensure proper ventilation.

4. Ventilation

  • Open Occasionally: For terrariums with a lid, occasionally remove the lid or open ventilation holes to allow fresh air to circulate and prevent mold growth.

5. Pruning

  • Trim Regularly: Keep plants healthy by trimming any overgrown or dead foliage. This helps maintain balance and allows room for new growth.

6. Cleaning

  • Wipe Down: Clean the inside of the glass with a damp cloth to remove any dust or algae buildup. Be gentle to avoid disturbing the plants.

7. Fertilizing

  • Minimal Feeding: Use a diluted liquid fertilizer sparingly, about once every 1-2 months, depending on the type of plants. Over-fertilizing can harm the delicate ecosystem.
