The Alocasia Black Velvet Pink is a rare and elegant houseplant known for its velvety dark green leaves accented with soft pink veins and undersides. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers warm, humid conditions, ideally between 18–26°C. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy, allowing the top couple of centimetres to dry out before watering again, and ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidifier to maintain high humidity, especially during winter. Feed every few weeks in spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser to encourage healthy growth, and gently wipe the leaves to keep their velvety surface free of dust. Avoid direct sunlight and cold drafts, and note that this plant is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept away from pets and children.
